Data leaks and identity theft are increasingly common, and they cost UK businesses and taxpayers £billions each year.
We fill our devices with information, from bank details to personal data. When you replace your IT assets, it is your legal responsibility to ensure that the data stored on your retired devices is responsibly erased.
For businesses, data security is essential. Under GDPR, you have a legal responsibility for the safe management of your data; but more important than the risk of hefty fines is the risk to your customers and your reputation.
TTB CircularIT's expert data erasure team ensure that no data is recoverable on your devices before they can be assessed for reuse.
We use secure licensed erasure software to overwrite every single piece of data on a device/hard drive, even the original operating system. Following overwrites, verification checks ensure that nothing is left, and a certificate of erasure is generated.
Drives that fail the data erasure process, or that can't be erased, are destroyed so that the data is unrecoverable, and a certificate of destruction is issued.
Our certified erasure process
Single pass (NIST. SP.800-88)
The drive is overwritten once with zeros, ones or pseudorandom and then verified.
Three pass (legacy HMG IS5 higher standard)
We can provide three-pass overwriting for organisations that still require it for legacy policy or contractual reasons. This service is provided at an additional charge.
Baseline for M series (2 pass)
Pseudorandom then cryptographic erase.
The encryption keys are securely deleted, making data permanently unreadable.

Laptops, PCs, HDDs and SDDs
Certus Erasure

Factory resets don't work
A security firm recovered 40,000 photos, 1,000 Google searches, hundreds of emails and even a loan application from 20 factory-reset mobile phones purchased online. (Avast)
Certified erasure matters
Global Erasure and Certus both hold EAL 3+ certification from NATO, UK NCSC and ADISA.
Their software wipes even hidden or locked data, such as Device Configuration Overlay (DCO), Host Protected Area (HPA) and remapped sectors of the drive.
