TTB CircularIT 2025 Impact Report
Through secure, reuse‑first processing of 17 tonnes of end‑of‑life tech, Tech‑Takeback helped organisations save more than 383 tonnes of Scope 3 carbon emissions, recover valuable materials and keep resources in circulation longer, as well as deliver £12.5million social value.

TTB CircularIT publishes its 2025 Impact Report and marks a milestone year for secure, circular IT services
TTB CircularIT has released its 2025 Impact Report, showcasing a year of growth in secure data erasure, circular IT processing and measurable environmental and social impact. The findings highlight the organisation’s strongest performance to date across reuse, recycling and digital inclusion, delivered during the final year operating under the original Tech‑Takeback structure.

A transformative year for circular IT, and a new chapter ahead
2025 marked a pivotal point in the evolution of Tech‑Takeback’s work. As outlined in the report, early 2026 saw the organisation transition into two distinct entities:
TTB CircularIT, delivering secure, circular IT services
Tech‑Takeback Foundation, an independent charity focused on digital inclusion
This structural shift reflects both the scale of growth achieved and the increasing need for specialist delivery in secure IT reuse and community digital access.
“This report captures the final year of Tech‑Takeback’s integrated model,” TTB CircularIT said. “From 2026 onwards, this evolution allows us to strengthen our commercial circular IT services while enabling the new Foundation to expand its vital digital inclusion mission.”
Headline results from the 2025 Impact Report
Strong circularity outcomes
In 2025, Tech‑Takeback securely processed more than 16 tonnes of end‑of‑life tech, collecting 17 tonnes, recycling 11 tonnes and preparing 6 tonnes for reuse.
Carbon and resource savings
Reuse generated major environmental gains, including:
143 tonnes CO₂e avoided — equivalent to 6,578 trees absorbing CO₂ for a year
840 tonnes of mining materials saved
154,600 megajoules of fossil resource savings
2.49 million litres of water conserved, enough to fill 61 Olympic pools
Where reuse wasn’t possible, responsible recycling produced further impact, including:
240 tonnes CO₂e avoided
Over 780 kg of iron, 681 kg of aluminium, and 118 kg of copper recovered
Growing trust in secure data erasure
Over 450 individuals used Tech‑Takeback’s data erasure services in 2025. Donor surveys showed a marked shift from high concern to confidence once devices were securely wiped — reinforcing why certified erasure is essential in preventing data hoarding and enabling reuse.
Digital inclusion impact
Tech‑Takeback donated 244 laptops and computers to people experiencing homelessness, domestic abuse, isolation or health challenges.
Using HACT Social Value Insights, the estimated Social Value generated through digital inclusion activities in 2025 was £9.6 million, reflecting improvements in wellbeing, education access, employment and financial resilience.
A message from Tech‑Takeback’s leadership
“2025 demonstrated the power of practical circularity,” the report notes.
Through reuse-first processing, secure collections and expanding digital inclusion support, Tech‑Takeback delivered significant community and environmental benefits while laying the foundations for an evolved, future-ready structure.
The road ahead
From 2026, CircularIT will focus on scaling secure, circular IT services, strengthening chain-of-custody, improving audit reporting and increasing reuse-first processing across all device types. The Tech‑Takeback Foundation will continue the digital inclusion mission as an independent charity.
“Together, these two organisations can now drive greater impact than ever before,” said TTB CircularIT. “Our 2025 results show what’s possible when secure data handling, circularity and community benefit work hand in hand.”
